Go Colts!

So, we had an impromptu party yesterday to watch the game. Actually, Dave was working, but one of our good friends and his girlfriend (who happens to be a really good friend of mine) wanted a place to watch the game. It became a really fun day. Along with Karissa, Emi and Kristin were both over here for awhile. Kurt and Karissa stayed until Dave got home and we all played games and watched the Vikings blow it (we actually really felt sorry for Brett Farve...that's hard to lose that way) and the Saints win. Oh, did I mention, THE COLT'S ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!

Dave at least has Superbowl Sunday off, so he can watch the game with friends and not at work.

Other than that, things are going really well. On Friday, we had a girls night. We went to see Leap Year and then out for coffee. I really liked the movie (might even own it when it comes out). Part of it is that it takes place in Ireland (which I love and want to visit someday) However, it was just cute and I enjoyed it. Spending time with the girls was lots of fun too.

One of these days, I'll write a more detailed update...until then, have a great day!

Callie recognizing her talents

Sorry it's a bit dark...it was taken off our camera. Here's Callie singing her favorite song of late. She's pretty passionate about it. :-)

Random Pictures

Dave's new project. Don't worry, we still plan on staining it...we just haven't decided on a color. It will also have 8 coat hooks going across the bottom. Look's nice doesn't it? :-)

Our recent sledding trip

Aren't these cousins just adorable?? :-)

Eh

It's been 11 days since I have blogged. I keep thinking about doing it, but really, I've had nothing too exciting to write. We're back to a blessedly normal schedule. The kids are all healthy. We've made a few trips down to the Children's Museum. Dave and I are doing great. It's so nice having him home every day now that he is done with Thorntown. He would mostly agree, but he still needs to find ways to get out of the house. He is working on a new wood project...already it looks amazing. He is building an entry-way system. Move over Pottery Barn, Dave Yenerich is coming through...

It's going to have baskets on top for each of us for gloves/hats, etc. Hooks to hold coats. The bottom will be a bench with baskets underneath for each of us to hold our shoes. It's going to be great.

As for me, I've been busy hanging out with my girls again. It's so nice to be able to see everyone now that the holidays are over (and we don't have the plague).

Noah had a good progress report/parent teacher meeting the other night. We celebrated wtih Dairy Queen. :-)

Really, aside from Dave's project, there is not a whole lot new happening...hence the lack of blogs recently. However, I thought I would at least write and let everyone know we were alive.

6 year Anniversary!

Yesterday marked Dave and I being married for 6 years. It's been quite an adventure, yet last night when I told Dave, that "I'm so happy that I married you", I meant it. It's interesting. I tend to read a lot of Christian romance. Perhaps my favorite is where the hero will risk anything to save the heroine. He would give up his life to protect her. Now, Dave is no gladiator, yet, I feel that same mindset eminate from him. Yesterday, he spent his afternoon fixing my van's brakes because he was nervous that they would go out on me. This was during the football game too...that's love.

It's not even so much in what he says...it's just in his actions that show that he gives me and the kids priority. It's how protected and safe I feel when I am around him. But more than that, he brings life to our lives. He's the fun one...the one who comes up with really fun activities spontaneously. I look back at the finer moments of our life and it's usually because Dave orchestrated some fun memorable moment. I married an incredible man. I know this.

We celebrated our anniversary on Saturday. We drove to Indy with the kids and did the Children's museum. It was SO nice to get out of the house after a week of being on house-arrest with sick kids (both kids ended up with strep, plus Callie's diarrhea and vomiting). He then took me to the Edinburgh outlet mall where he let me go shopping for our anniversary. I ended up with a new sweater and a black dress that was on sale. We hurried home so that we weren't late for our real date. Mindy watched our kids while we went to dinner at Red Seven...amazing food. Really, the best we've had in awhile. It was one of those swanky places that we would never take the kids too and would be considered our "nice" date places. Dave and I were both impressed. Then we went to see "The Blind Side". If you've seen it, I probably need to say no more. If you haven't, you should. It's a really great, feel good movie.

It was a great way to spend our anniversary. Yesterday, our actual anniversary we just spent doing normal activities. We had church in the morning, Dave fought with Noah to eat SOMEthing for lunch, which Noah promptly made himself throw up over everything, Dave fixed my van, and then we had Clear Vision in the evening.

Please pray for Noah. We're not sure what's going on with him. He won't eat at all...not even his favorite foods. Yesterday, when Dave made him eat 3 chicken nuggets, he threw them up and everything along with it (he has a very active gag-reflex). However, last night he came and got us in the middle of the night because he had thrown-up again. So, maybe it's something else. I plan on calling the doctor this morning. It makes me nervous when they won't eat ANYthing for days in a row. So, please pray that whatever this is, just ends quickly so we can really just get back to normal.

The holidays were great, but I am honestly looking forward to getting back to "normal". Happy New Year everyone.
