Dare I say?

(Trying to find a better picture: one with Noah and his rewards...to come)

That Noah is potty trained. Um, it's been less than a week, but Noah is in big boy underwear all day now. We've done pooping, public, and naptimes. The only time he wears a pull-up is at night. I'm sure we'll have the occasional accident, but if all goes well and there is no regression, we are on a great path.

We've even switched him to using the big potty with a training seat. He's enjoying "making bubbles".

I am so grateful and thankful that this has been a seamless transition so far.

Thank you Jesus!

Success!

So, although we've had an accident here and there...and public is a whole 'nother story, Noah is doing REALLY well potty training at home. After 4 days, he is now telling us when he needs to go potty. Can it really be this simple? I'm sure we have a long way to go: Next steps are mastering pooping, public, and nighttime. But, I'm so impressed that Noah is doing this well. I just pray that we can keep the momentum. Good job Noie!

Potty Training

Yesterday, Noah wore big boy underwear for the first time. He was so excited about them! It seems he doesn't give a lick if he sits in pee in his diaper, but peeing in his underwear is a tad more uncomfortable. We had 5 accidents yesterday and no pee-pee in the potty. A bit discouraging, but not unexpected. Today, he must have caught himself, because he peed a little bit, and then finished in the POTTY! I'm pretty sure you could hear the celebration throughout the whole neighborhood! Um, we had upped the ante for him and told him that if he peed in the potty, he would get a train...Dave had bought one and stuck it on top of the tv for motivation. So, he is happily carrying around Arthur, his new train. Did I mention the potty chair is sitting in our living room? Yeah, but it works for the moment. For future potty's we get a sticker, which is kind of a let down, I know after a train, but we really wanted to drive home the initial concept.

He is currently sitting on the potty and watching Dora. Whatever works. He is beginning to get it and THAT is very exciting for Dave and I. Go Noah!

He has been sitting on the potty A LOT this morning and before the first "hurray!", I layed my hand and prayed over Him. God cares for all our needs, even the ones about potty's. Obviously, because less than 15 minutes later, he was successful. Thank you God for knowing that we needed a success.

12:10- He peed in the potty again!

Prowling like a lion

It's amazing what a week will do. Callie started crawling on Monday and now she is everywhere! It's funny seeing her prowl around. She loves being mobile and now I'm finding I have to clean up EVERYTHING really well, otherwise it goes into her little mouth. Noah is having a harder time dealing with this. He now "has" to hoard all his toys and is developing some jealous streaks that we are working on.

Yesterday, we were able to snag Sarah B. to babysit last minute so Dave and I could just get out of the house. He's working nights this weekend, so we weren't sure how much energy he would have. Thus, not allowing me to be able to plan ahead. However, on the morning of, I definitely needed a break and to just spend time with Dave (Sad that I was kind of jealous of Noah!) I dragged him to "He's just not that into you." It's cute and I laughed. Dave was a trooper for going to a chick-flick with me. I told him he filled his quota for the year. It was nice just to get out, V-day or not. We didn't do presents this year, just cards...but he did buy me flowers, which was super sweet.

Now, we are off to church.

Callie crawling!

Well, here's the latest here:

Dave got really sick when he was at his conference in Indy. He ended up coming home early Saturday morning and spent the rest of the day in bed. Finally, on Sunday, we took him into our urgent care where he was diagnosed with severe bronchitus. He's now on some good drugs and stayed home from work today. It's day 4 and we are hoping that he starts feeling better soon.

After taking care of Callie (who has been sick since Wednesday) and now Dave, I am feeling a little under the weather today. My throat is bothering me and I am exhausted. It basically makes for a fun day when both of us are sluggish with two young kids.

Perhaps the BEST news however is that Miss Callie has decided she finally wants to crawl...forward! She has been crawling backward for quite awhile now, but today she has been taking 5-6 crawl steps towards things consistently. Awesome! We knew she would do it when she was good and ready...and here she is. I'll post a video in a second.

So, that's our news. Prayers for healing would be greatly appreciated. We'll keep everyone posted. I'm hoping that I can sneak in a nap sometime soon, except Noah and Callie are off schedules today (Callie is up and Noah is down).

When it rains...

Last night, our garage door opener stopped working. Dave stayed home from his conference today to fix it (he would have no other time until Sunday afternoon). When he looked at it, he noticed that the gear had literally been ground down. Essentially, since the thing was 16 years old, it probably just needed to be replaced. So, he went out and bought a new one. When he came back, my friend Leah, who was coming over noticed that one of his tires was flat. When he went out to look, he came in and announced that he needed 4 new tires. We knew they were bad, but they are REALLY bad...threadbare bad. Anyway, so that's going to be done today as well. His heater stopped working for the garage, but he managed to get that fixed.

He spent all day installing the garage door opener and getting his tires replaced. Quite the day.

My friend Jen came over in the afternoon. We hung out and watched a movie. Both my kids are sick and running fevers. Since we have had late nights the last two nights, they were both peacefully in bed at 6:45pm tonight. Hello 5am. They need their rest though, and I am hoping I can push Noah until at least 7 at staying in his room. We'll see if I am lucky at all.

I'm pretty tired today, but I am trying to stay up to watch Bones...and maybe the Office...if I can stay awake that long.

Top 10 ways my kids make me smile

1) Callie makes these silly scrunched up smiley faces when she is tired. She is still happy, but it's a dead give away that she should be in bed.

2) Noah sings all the time...and it is so stinkin cute. He'll start something like twinkle, twinkle and end up with part of the itsy bitsy spider.

3) Noah can make Callie laugh like no other and it is heartwarming to listen to them in the car.

4) When Noah says, "That was very nice of you Mommy. Thank you" after I give him something.

5) When Callie is almost asleep and I can actually rock with her. It's the sweetest time to hold a snuggling baby.

6) Noah's "tisses".

7) When they are sleeping. I love checking on them at night and watching their little cherub faces sleep.

8) Tickling either kid under the chin elicites the best belly laugh, which in turn makes me smile.

9) Noah's joy when he receives a present of any kind. "Oh wow! Tanks!"

10) Their personalities. Noah is so ambitious. He is always accomplishing something new. Callie is content. She enjoys the things and people around her.

Yeah, I love my kiddos.
